TOURLESTRANE

HARD to believe that on the last week of November we had a county Final and semi final to play this weekend!!! Our u21 team played Tubbercurry/Cloonacool in the u21 final under lights on Saturday night in Tourlestrane and this game proved to be one of the most exciting and close encounters of the season as indeed was last week’s semi final. Our very young team played their hearts out to the bitter end. The two teams were very evenly matched throughout the 60 minutes and until added injury 4 minutes it looked like we were heading into extra time but Tubbercurry scored the deciding winning point to claim the county title Congratulations to the team and management. SUNDAY afternoon saw us back in action again in Tourlestrane v Ballymote in the Abbott Cup semi final where some of the u21s braved it out again on a very miserable afternoon for the Juniors. At the half time whistle the lads went in a point ahead 1/7 to 1/6 but the second half saw lots more action and another 5 goals scored as well as some fine taken points !! the teams swapped leads more than once in the second 30 minutes but Tourlestrane pulled ahead and the game finished Tourlestrane 4/11 to Ballymote 3/9 at the final whistle. Well done to the team and management and best of luck in the final.
