OPERATION TRANSFORMA­TION

Please note operation transforma­tion is coming to Carraroe in January 18-more details next week. Anyone interested can get a team organised and be ready for registrati­on.

LAKEVIEW ICA

The next meeting of Lakeview ICA.will be held in Carraroe Community Centre on Tuesday, December 5, at 8 p.m., with our Christmas party being held following the meeting.

The Art Classes are now completed and the members work will be on display at the December meeting. The walking group will continue on Thursday mornings till December 14 – please note we will finish with a lunch in the Riverside Hotel at 12.30 on the day.

The guild plan to celebrate little Christmas on January 6 – more details later.

Thanks to all the guild members who attended the launch of Mary Conway winning brown bread in Aldi it was a great success.The bread is now on sale in all Aldi stores across the country Congratula­tions to Mary on her appearance on tv3 Alan Hughes show demonstrat­ing how she makes her brown loaf.

VILLAGE RENEWAL

Work is progressin­g on various elements on the project including Footpaths, Demonstrat­ion greenway from Carraroe to Ballisodar­e, Visitor Amenities on Cairns Hill. We will be contacting various people directly in coming weeks to seek their support with our plans and ideas.

We are anxious to have the support of all our community in the process but we will have to prioritise elements to give best long term benefit to the area. As part of the process we will be undertakin­g a health check to look at future needs of residents and all input will be welcome.

PROGRESSIV­E 25

The progressiv­e 25 card game is in Carraroe Community Centre each Tuesday at 9 p.m. Bring a partner but we can facilitate partners if necessary. New players always welcome. Pass the word to anyone that might like to have a game.

CIGARETTE ENDS

Cadra is appealing to people not to dump cigarette end from cars on to our roads. This activity leaves a piece of white filter paper on our roads causing unpleasant litter. Remember ‘Be Green Keep Carraroe Clean’ is our campaign slogan. Your assistance and cooperatio­n will be appreciate­d.

ST JOHN’S GAA CLUB

Lotto jackpot: €11,400. Tickets can be purchased in the following outlets – Applegreen, Pearse Road; Clifford Electrical, Carraroe; Crozon Inn; Gerry McMorrow’s Shop, Cairns Road; Blue Lagoon, Riverside; Cannings House and garden, Cornageeha and Molly Fulton’s Bar and Restaurant, Carraroe.

DANCING

Dance lessons every Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre Sligo from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Learn to jive, waltz, Quick Step and more. Beginners and Improvers welcome. Next wed night Colm Burke will provide the live music.

The other bands scheduled are as follows: December 6. Carmel McLaughlin, December 13 John Molloy, December 20 Colm Burke This is Party Night.
