HURLING TITLE
At the end of a year when the winning of silverware just eluded senior members of the local Glencar/Manorhamilton football teams and the Cluainín Iomáint hurlers, there was joy and relief for area’s GAA fans when the hurlers won the Leitrim senior league final.
After a tough battle, Cluainín Iomáint defeated Longford Slashers by 0 – three in the Leitrim league decider on a one – 15 to three – six score line. Prior to that this year, the Glencar/Manorhamilton footballers had lost the Leitrim Junior ‘B’ final, the Leitrim Senior final and the Leitrim Junior ‘A’ final while Cluainín Iomáint was defeated by Carrick in the Leitrim senior hurling final.
Following the Leitrim senior league hurling, Cluainín Iomáint Captain Kevin Clerkin received the cup from Leitrim Hurling Board chairman, Paddy Phelan.
All in the local area and in the Glencar/Manorhamilton GAA Club would like to congratulate the Cluainín Iomáint team as well as manager, Terry McManus plus his selectors and his back-room staff, on winning the 2017 Leitrim senior hurling league title.
