CHRISTMAS AT THE HAWK’S WELL

This festive season, there are lots of great shows for all ages at the Hawk’s Well Theatre.

The 39 th annual pantomime by Coolera Dramatic Society this year is Babes in the Wood which runs nightly from Sunday the 3rd to Saturday the 16 th of December with matinees on Sunday the 3rd and 10 th.

Filled with slapstick jokes, song-anddance routines, stunning costumes and spectacula­r sets, it’s the perfect pre- Christmas treat for all the family and always a show to book early!

On Saturday the 9 th of December, magical music, tea, coffee and mince pies await at the theatre’s final Music for Babies concert of 2017.

Featuring Sinead Conway and Dave Flynn, this series of short concerts has been specifical­ly designed for parents, grandparen­ts and carers to enjoy in the company of babies, toddlers and young children, with two shows catering for different ages (12pm for 0 - 18mths; 2pm for 18mths - 3yrs).

On Tuesday the 12 th and Wednesday the 13th of December, the hilarious show, Faulty Towers, the Dining Experience returns to Sligo.

This multi award-winning show takes place in the Sligo Park Hotel with bookings through the Hawk’s Well theatre.

In this fully immersive experience, the audience become diners in the infamous ‘Faulty’ restaurant, served a three course meal by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, resulting in a memorable night for the audience!

Hawk’s Well Theatre Mini Proms presents its annual Christmas concert for kids, Christmas Toons with Anything Goes which runs on Sunday the 17 th and Monday the 18th of December with two special shows for schools.

A special festive concert for the whole family to enjoy and share in the magic and music of Christmas, tickets are €10/6 u12s and there is a special €30 ticket for families.

FIRST PANTO FOR MANORHAMIL­TON

From the 15 to the 17 of December, The Glens Centre in Manorhamil­ton, Co. Leitrim are hosting the first pantomime the town has ever had (in living history)! Entitled Little Red & the Black Dog, it is written by local playwright Treasa Nealon and directed by Sonia Norris (co-founder of The Rabbit’s Riot Theatre Company). With a army of talent behind it, from Kila’s Deee Armstrong to singer-song writer Cian Rock to aspiring young actors from St. Clares Comprehens­ive, it’ ll be an unmissable event during the Christmas season!

SLIGO FOR SIMON

Sligo Orpheus Choir presents Carols by Candleligh­t on Sun10 th December at 8.00pm in Holy Cross Friary Sligo In support of the North West branch Simon Community The local Homeless charity Simon Communitie­s across the country provide support and services to over 8,000 people and their families experienci­ng or at risk of homelessne­ss every year.

Accompanie­d by organist, Trumpeters, String Quartet, and under the direction of Austin McManus audiences won’t fail to be awed by the joy of these Christmas carols.

Singing a wide variety of classic carols and modern favourites, Sligo Orpheus Choir hope to inspire entertain and awaken the spirit with Carols old and new The concert is in support of the local Homeless Charity the North west Branch of the Simon Community.

We are inviting the local Media to galvanize support behind this project to show that Sligo cares for those less fortunate who through no fault have been rendered Homeless or are in danger of becoming homeless.

Carols by Candleligh­t is a wonderful way for families and friends to get together and celebrate the magic of Christmas while showing solidarity with our fellow men and women who with a little help can be lifted out of their hopelessne­ss.

FAULTY TOWERS: THE DINING EXPERIENCE

On Tuesday the 12 th and Wednesday the 13th of December, the hilarious show, Faulty Towers, the Dining Experience returns to Sligo.

This multi award-winning show takes place in the Sligo Park Hotel with bookings through the Hawk’s Well theatre.

In this fully immersive experience, the audience become diners in the infamous ‘Faulty’ restaurant, served a three course meal by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, resulting in a memorable night for the audience!

This show has been winning fans and accolades around the world.

Featuring all the best gags and a great meal, this is a loosely scripted, pitch-perfect ‘13th episode’ of the TV series.

Chaos greets audiences as soon as they walk through the door. In this fully immersive experience, the audience become diners in the infamous ‘Faulty’ restaurant, served a 3 course meal by Basil, Sybil and Manuel.

Expect lashings of laughter, huge bowls full of spontaneit­y and as much participat­ion as individual audience members want.

And with most of the show improvised, no two performanc­es are ever the same.
