Anthony is hoping to get you ‘Hooked’ on his new restaurant

-

POPULAR restaurateur Anthony Gray has opened another restaurant ‘Hooked.’

The official launch took place last Thursday evening where invited guests celebrated with a glass of prosseco and some delicious treats from the impressive menu.

Opening just in time for Christmas ‘Hooked’ has found a home in the former ‘Casa Mia’ premises on Rockwood parade. The riverside corner site is an ideal location for a restaurant and is just a few doors down from his award winning Eala Bhán restaurant.

This new venture for the Chairman of the Sligo Food Trail is inspired by the traditional butcher’s shop which Anthony’s father Joe had in Sligo for many years.

Indeed the name itself comes from the old meat hooks used in the shop. The eclectic interior includes the old butchers block incorporated into the bar, the traditional weighing scales and ‘meat memorabilia’.

The informal menu has a strong focus on freshness and quality. Chef Joseph McGlynn sources as much as possible locally and likes to use organic produce. Supplier names include Mammy Johnston’s, Ballisodare Free Range Eggs, LETS Organic Centre, Le Fournil and Kelly’s of Newport.
