Salon 2 is ending the year on a high
WELL known Sligo Hairdresser Anthony Kilcoyne has scooped a prestigious nationwide award recognising his contribution to the industry.
The owner of Salon 2 in Sligo town was honoured with an Irish Hairdressing Federation Hall of Leaders ICON Award.
Irish Federation President Damien Nolan said: “This prestigious award was bestowed on Anthony to acknowledge his work, dedication and commitment to the industry in Ireland and beyond.”
A delighted Anthony said: “The award is recognition by my peers in the Irish hairdressing industry and is a huge honour for me.”
And it was not the only recent accolade for the popular Hair Salon.
Salon 2 stylist Deirdre Kennedy was placed third in the Fantasy Category at the recent Alfaparf Milano Fantastic Hairdresser Awards 2017.
Anthony said: “Deirdre’s creation was made completely from hair and wowed the judges with its attention to detail.
“It was the result of many months of hard work. We are very proud of her achievement and delighted to get the award which is very well deserved.”
On the night of the recent awards, Anthony also had a significant role as one of the Alfaparf Educators.
He was on stage with the Nexxt Generation Creative Team for an inspirational show featuring the best hairdressers in the industry.
The skilled stylists delighted guests with creative and artistic hair techniques. Not only was it entertaining but those in the audience picked up a collection of handy tips to take back to their own salons. Again, this was a wonderful opportunity for Anthony. HAIRDRESSER hopeful Katie Ryan has won an award at Crossan’s Be Fab competition which was held last Sunday week in the th Radisson Hotel Sligo.
Katie (pictured) who is from the th Strandhill Road is training to t be a stylist. The award is in college c fantasy colour. Katie has only o being hairdressing eight months, training in Mayo Sligo and Leitrim Training Board (MSLETB) Training Centre, Sligo. S
Instructor Marie Morrison said: “Colouring hair is a passion fro Katie with colour correction being her favourite area. She S is delighted with such a prestigious award and plans to pursue a career in hairdressing when the course is completed.”
