Centra Sligo scoops top national award
FILAN’S Centra in Sligo was celebrating a double victory last month after being crowned the coveted best convenience store in Ireland at the National C-Store Awards 2017.
Filan’s, which was chosen as Supreme Champion to take the National Convenience Store Winner 2017 title back home to Sligo, was also the winner in the Best Convenience Store
Under 1,500 square foot category.
The national convenience store awards, which are organised by ShelfLife
Magazine, took place on 22
November at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire.
Over 400 guests, including
Ireland’s top retailers and leading representatives from the grocery retail sector, gathered last night to attend the prestigious ceremony.
Now in its 17 th year, the
C-Store Awards are the only comprehensive and independently-judged business accolades for the convenience store sector.
Filan’s Centra in Sligo is operated by Finbar Filan and Saini Abraham. Finbar said: “To win the overall category and to be chosen as Supreme Champion is a huge honour, but to also receive the award for Best Convenience Store Under 1,500 square foot is a dream come true. I am delighted to accept both awards on behalf of the staff at Filan’s Centra. The victory is testament to the great team at the store and the hard work that they put in every day to serve our loyal customers and the local community in Sligo.”
