The Sligo Champion

Rovers history book is the ideal Christmas present

-

THE much acclaimed Sligo Rovers History –‘The Bit O’ Red’, is now for sale in bookshops and should prove a very popular gift for the club’s supporters at home and abroad.

With almost 600 beautifully illustrated pages, it has created its own bit of history as the most detailed publication ever produced by a League of Ireland Club. It is a definitive reference book with records from every season since the club was established in 1928, fascinating stories about the memorable games and famous players, and reflections of the people who served in various capacities over the club’s long history. The book is very reasonably priced at €75 for hard-back and €50 for the regular edition.

Chair of the Sligo Rovers Heritage Group Aidan Mannion said ‘It is no exaggeration to say that this is a once-in-a-lifetime publication, we have uncovered some marvellous material in the course of our research and I think it will be treasured by every Sligo Rovers supporter and the wider Sligo community. People have been very generous in donating mementoes and sharing memories for this history, it will be read and enjoyed for generations to come. I could not think of a more welcome Christmas gift for people interested in Sligo and Sligo Rovers.’
