Indoor rowing
SLIGO Rowing Club recently made the journey to University Limerick to compete at the Irish Provinces Indoor Rowing championships. All athletes complete their time trials on indoor rowing machines against athletes of their age group from all around Ireland.
David Barlow, who only started rowing last year, won silver in the Junior 15 category. Brian Colsh won the Junior U16 category. Mairead Kavanagh, Roisin Walsh, Erin O’Connor , Sarah Tighe , Ailish Duggan , Racheal O’Connor also represented Sligo and put in good performances, particularly when one bears in mind that this was the first competitive event for Sarah , Ailish and Racheal who joined the club in September. The first race is in Carrick-on-Shannon.
