Speeding drivers fined at the local court

FOR travelling at 110kph in a 100kph zone at Knoxpark, Ballisodare on October 30 th 2016, Mary Corcoran of Market House, Market Yard was fined €80. She was also fined €200 for not having a licence.

Also at Sligo District Court last Thursday, Gary Moran, Knocknacross, Riverstown was fined €120 for travelling at 99kph in a 60kph zone at Sooney, Riverstown on October 21st 2016.

Mr Tom MacSharry, solicitor (defending) said the offence occurred on the widest part of the road.

He added that the defendant had received the fixed charge penalty notice in respect of the offence but he had mislaid it and it wasn’t paid with a summons then issuing.
