New students celebrate Trinity High Achiever Awards

TRINITY College Dublin Entrance Exhibition Award for high achievemen­t, 580 first-year students to receive the special prize. The awards were presented to first year students at Trinity who achieved 552 points (excluding bonus points) or higher in their Leaving Certificat­e examinatio­n. The students represent 279 schools and come from all over Ireland, as well as internatio­nally.

A ceremony to mark the students’ achievemen­ts was held in the Dining Hall and the awards were presented by the Vice-Provost/ Chief Academic Officer, Professor Chris Morash and College Registrar, Professor Paula Murphy. The students’ parents and teachers joined them in their celebratio­ns.

Congratula­ting the students, the Vice- Provost, Professor Morash said: “The high points achieved by these students reflects both their remarkable ability and their commitment to hard work. We are very proud that these talented students have decided to join us for the next exciting stage of their personal and educationa­l developmen­t. We wish them continued success in the years to come.”
