A gold award from the President for Gary
SLIGO IT student, Gary Costello has received a prestigious Gaisce Gold Award from President Michael D. Higgins at a special awards ceremony in Dublin Castle. Gary was amongst 55 young people from across Ireland who received their Gold Award For his Community Involvement challenge Gary volunteered with the Sligo Sports Partnership where he coached young children. He described how seeing how confident children became through physical activities gave him joy and pride. For the Physical Activity Gary joined his college’s Triathlon club and his Personal Skill Gary saw him take up design and woodwork. Gary volunteered at Barretstown for his Residential Project while completing the Camino for his Adventure Journey.
