Traffic calming measures for Ballintogher

-

TRAFFIC calming measures are in the pipeline for the village of Ballintogher next year.

Councillor Thomas Healy, who raised the issue at the December Council meeting, was told that the Council had applied for a €20,000 grant from the Government for the measures.

“If you’re driving in from the Dromahair side you’re gone past the Community Centre and the pub and half way into the village before you see the speed signs,” said Cllr Healy.

He also raised the issue of the junction near the shop and the Ballintogher to Slish Wood road. He was supported by Cllr Martin Baker.

Director of Services Tom Kilfeather told them the Council had also replaced damaged footpaths which were a safety concern in recent weeks.
