Disappointed in amendment

I must say I was very disappointed to read in your paper of the St. Angela’s Student body adopting the position to repeal the 8th Amendment. This amendment is the only protection afforded to the unborn child in our constitution.

I shudder to think what will become of all those children whose fate and right to life will depend on whether we choose to retain their protection or not. I shudder deeper still when I think that it is our future nurses and home economics teachers that have agreed this position - these people who study biology are blinded by the ‘groupthink’ - what is our country turning into? I will continue to speak up for the unborn child until such time they can speak up for themselves.
