Grammar defeat rivals Summerhill
WHEN Sligo Grammar School and Summerhill College meet in rugby it always brings out much excitement and competitive action. This was the case on Wednesday last when the two schools got their Senior cup campaigns underway. Sligo RFC was host for the Top Oil Pool 2 clash and as expected large support from both schools were there cheering on the sides.
Ross O’Boyle’s Summerhill were runners up in the contest last year following a brilliant campaign which saw the Jes winning back to back titles.
The half-time score in this game saw Sligo Grammar narrowly ahead by three points, the scoreline reading 12 points to nine and it was a lead they didn’t surrender, the final score saw Sligo Grammar take the victory by 15 points to nine.
It was an entertaining game of rugby from both schools as they now go on to the next stage of the competition.
