SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to Olivia Taheny, Calterane, Gurteen and the Taheny family on the death on November 30 of Marian Boylan, Longwood, Co. Meath. A frequent visitor to Calterane over many years she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Sympathy also to her sons, daughters, grandchild­ren, great grandchild­ren, nephews, nieces and to all her extended family. May she rest in peace.

Bingo is on each Friday night in Gurteen Hall at 8.30 p.m. – jackpot is now €1,600 in 45 calls plus lotto raffle €300. Any profit shared between Eastern Harps GAA Club and the hall committee.

Tickets for Gurteen Tidy Towns Christmas fundraisin­g raffle on sale in all local businesses and from committee members. Gurteen Tidy Towns will endeavour to provide Christmas lighting in the village this year. Thanks to our very generous sponsors and to the community for your ongoing support.

Cherish the ladies make a return visit to the Coleman Centre, Gurteen on Saturday night, January 6, in concert.

This concert is already sold out but they are adding the following night Sunday 7th at 8 p.m. to do a second one.

In the Gurteen-Cloonloo Community area there are 186 members on Text Alert – a small number of those registered are over-due with their annual €5 contributi­on.

In order to remain on the register please give your €5 in an envelope to Mary in post office, with your name and mobile number (not landline). Anyone wishing to join may do likewise.

Please report suspicious activity however small, or vehicles, to 071 9182002. Please save this number in your phone to have it readily. It is for Gurteen Garda Station; when not attended it transfers to Ballymote.
