CAROLS BY CANDLELIGH­T

A ‘Carols by Candleligh­t’ service will take place in Cloonacool Church, Sunday, December 17 at 7 p.m.

The Cloonacool Card Game will take place at 8.30 p.m. in Cloonacool Community Centre each Monday evening.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Cloonacool annual Christmas party will take place on Sunday, December 10, in Cloonacool Community Centre. Mass at 3 p.m. followed by an evening of festive entertainm­ent. To book your place please contact Attracta at 086 3058844.

DANCING STARS

Well done and congratula­tions to Clíona Walker and fellow Dancers of the under-15 Ceili, World Qualifiers, Solo and under-18 Ceili Champions. Best of luck at the 2018 World Championsh­ip.

Gratitude is expressed to teachers Siobhán, Danielle and Amy of the Siobhán McDonnell School of Irish Dancing.

Following their recent success at the Irish Nationals Championsh­ips the girls under-15 Ceili won the Connacht Championsh­ip which took place in Galway this month.

COMMUNITY PARK DRAW

The Community Park lotto draw for November took place in Brennan’s on Saturday night. There was no winner of the €1,200 jackpot. The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 8 and 31, there was two match-three winners Anna McIntyre and Declan and Caroline Currid, sharing €200. Next month’s jackpot now stands at €1,300. Tickets can still be purchased from any committee member. Many thanks for your generous support.

CLOONACOOL PLAYERS

Rehearsals are in full swing at present for this year’s production of ‘Cupid Wore Skirts’ by the Cloonacool Players. This is an hilarious three-act comedy written by that great northern playwright Sam Cree.

It will be performed in Cloonacool Community Centre on February 9, 10 and 11, followed by dates in the Hawks Well Theatre Sligo, Ballina Arts Centre, St Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurr­y and Ballintogh­er Community Centre.

The cast contains the usual mix of local actors. The play is produced by Seán Walsh and directed by Tom Towey. Anyone wishing to join the group and help out in any way can contact any group member in the coming weeks.

MUSIC CLUB

Cloonacool Music Club takes place on Thursday at Brennan’s Bar from 10 p.m. Come along for a great night of music and singing. There will be a bus available to collect and leave home on Thursday nights for music club. Pick up between 9.30 and 10 p.m., and then leaving Cloonacool after the food. Please ring 071 9185037 for further informatio­n and to book your seat. There will be a minimal charge for the bus.

CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

The last meeting for 2017 of the Cancer Support Group was on Wednesday last December 6. The next Support Group Meeting at the Cancer Support Centre, 53 Ard Aisling, Charlestow­n Road, Tubbercurr­y will be on the first Wed in February 2018 at 8 p.m. For further informatio­n please phone 089 4480527.
