CAKE SALE

A cake sale will be held in Fr Kiran Holmes house on Sunday, December 17 after Mass. Donations of cakes will be gratefully accepted and can be left at the house on Saturday 16. Proceeds are in aid of two girls going to Zambia.

BOSTON TEA PARTY

Coláiste Iascaigh will hold a Boston Tea Party in the Ocean Sands Hotel on January 26. All proceeds going directly to future developmen­t works at the school. An auction is also planned on the night, and are currently accepting any items that may attract interest. ST FARNAN’S GAA

The annual general meeting of the St Farnan’s GAA Club will be held on Friday, December 15, at 8.30 p.m. in Dromore West community centre.

SCOR NA NÓG

Well done to the Easkey ballad group who came first at the Scor na nÓg county finals held in Ballintogh­er. Members of the group were Aisling McGuire, Laura McGuire, Emily McGuire, Amber Jade McDonald and Michaela Munnelly. They will go on to represent Sligo at the Connacht finals in Claremorri­s on January 14.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on December 1. Numbers drawn were 18, 27, 28 and 29. €25 winners were Chloe Green, Mary Muller, Michael J Kenny, J, Ed, and R Hogan and Lily Foody. Promoter’s prize: Margaret Conlon. Next jackpot €2,300 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the community centre at 8.30 on Friday night.

PRIDE OF PLACE

Congratula­tions to all the community groups who took place in the all-Ireland Pride of Place awards in Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenn­y, on Saturday, December 2. Enniscrone won runner-up in the 32 county Pride of Place Competitio­n out of 100 communitie­s and local organisati­ons. Well done to Enniscrone Events Committee.

BAG PACKING THANKS

St Joseph’s NS Culleens Co Sligo would like to thank the parents and teachers who took part in bag packing in Dunnes stores and raised €477. A big thank you to Mary Scott at the Hilltop for her ongoing support of Culleens School – it is greatly appreciate­d.

Our Abbott Cup final fixture against Tourlestra­ne has been pushed back to Saturday, December 16, at 1 p.m. with a venue yet to be announced.

Married vs Singles – Our very popular Married vs Singles match will take place this year on Wednesday, December 27, at 2.30 p.m. in Quigabar. We are also hoping to involve our Gaelic for Mothers and Others in proceeding­s. It promises to be another fantastic day, all in aid of a designated charity once again. Management teams are set to be appointed in the coming week, and no doubt both teams will eagerly start their preparatio­ns ahead of the big encounter. Keep an eye on our social media platforms for further updates in the coming weeks.

PRIDE OF PLACE

Congratula­tions to the Enniscrone representa­tives who picked up the Runner-up prize in the Pride of Place awards in Letterkenn­y last Saturday night. This is a wonderful achievemen­t and great recognitio­n for our community. We were delighted to be part of the entry, when judges visited our new developmen­ts at Quigabar last August.

AED COURSE

Thanks to Séamus Egan and Della Lindsay for providing defibrilla­tor training for club members last Thursday evening in the Astro complex. We will be installing a new defibrilla­tor at the clubhouse in the near future.

BRIDGE CLUB

Bridge is played weekly in the Diamond Coast Hotel by the Enniscrone Social Bridge club. Commencing at 7.30 each week. 44 Members played in the Turkey competitio­n on December 6 and the results will be revealed at the Christmas party on 13th.

BLOTTO

There was no winner of the €13,200 jackpot. Numbers drawn were 3, 27 and 36. €25 winners were Deirdre Coggins, Frances Gallagher, Alan Tuffy, Maurice Sweeney and Lee Barrett. The jackpot for the next draw is on Saturday, December 9, in Hopkin’s Bar Enniscrone, and will be €13,400.

WALKING CLUB

The walk for this week Saturday, December 17, is a Ballina Walk and followed by a Christmas Lunch. This is an easy road walk of 10 kms. cessful COFFEE MORNING has raised over 8,000 EURO .Thanks again Gay and Seamus and all who helped.
