Avalon Centre PIPE BAND

The Avalon Centre is delighted to announce the start of the Avalon Academy Pipe Band in January 2018 for learning bagpipes and drums. Piping classes will take place on Monday evenings from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the time and date for Drumming classes has yet to be confirmed. Tuition is free and all instrument­s will be provided.

The minimum age for learners is 10 years of age. Please contact Paul Tolan at the centre at 071 9161836 for further informatio­n or to express your interest in signing up.

PARENT/TODDLER GROUPS

The parent and toddler group meets on Monday mornings from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and on Wednesday mornings from 10.30 a.m. to midday. Contact Paula at 071 9161836 for further details.

SELF-DEFENCE CLASSES

Krav Maga Self-defence classes are running on Wednesdays, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Contact 087 0659709 for more details.

BINGO

Bingo continues every Friday night from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Double books cost €15, single books €10, half books €5 and single sheets €1. There is also a raffle on the night.

YOUTH CLUBS

Our Junior Youth Club meets on Monday and Wednesday from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Senior Youth Club meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

BOWLING

The Avalon Centre Bowling Club meets every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the centre. Just call in on the day.

PROGRESSIV­E 25

The progressiv­e 25 card game is in Carraroe Community Centre each Tuesday at 9 p.m. The Christmas party is in Tuesday the 19th. Hoping all players and supporters can attend for a relaxed game and social chat with usual treats.Bring a partner but we can facilitate partners if necessary. New players always welcome. Pass the word to anyone that might like to have a game.

OPERATION TRANSFORMA­TION

ART COMPETITIO­N

Pupils in Carraroe are working on the art competitio­n to design a car sticker highlighti­ng Cigarette Littering and Dog Fouling. The project is supported by Sligo County Council Anti Litter Anti Graffiti Scheme.

Dance lessons every Wednesday night in Carraroe Community Centre Sligo from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Learn to jive, waltz, Quick Step and more. Beginners and Improvers welcome.

Cranmore CHRISTMAS TREE EVENT

Cranmore’s annual Christmas Tree Event will be taking place on Thursday, December 14, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will take place outside the Cranmore Regenerati­on Office where we will have the blessing and lighting of the Christmas Tree and Christmas Carols.

We will then move on to the Cranmore Co-op Offices where the kids will meet Santa, there will be Farmyard in your Schoolyard and light refreshmen­ts will be served. Any more info please contact the Cranmore Co-op at 071 9149951.

Merville COMMUNITY MASS

The annual Mass for deceased and the sick of Our Community will take place this year on this Friday, December 15, at Merville Centre at 8 p.m. All are welcome to Attend.
