In talks for Markievicz Park to host concerts in future

THE Convention was told that there were plans to secure Markievicz Park as host for a major concert in 2018.

Treasurer Peter Greene said that there had been talks with a big concert provider recently and a contract had been done and dusted with the view to having a concert in September but the group pulled out of their tour.

He did say that although it was disappointing there are plans to fulfil the plans at a later stage.

Westlife played in Markievicz Park in 2003.
