Time to come in from the cold and gather round as four leading lights of Irish trad join forces in what promises to be an unforgetta­ble tour on Wednesday January 10 th at The Hawk’s Well Theatre. At the forefront of the Irish music scene for over 25 years, the’ve performed in every corner of the globe.

Leading the charge is Arcady’s Niamh Parsons, a peerless balladeer with one of the most distinctiv­e voices in Irish music. Donegal fiddle maestro and long-time member of Altan, Ciarán Tourish is fêted for his incendiary improvisat­ion and cascading arpeggios, providing the perfect foil for the invention and rhythmic drive of flautist Liam Kelly.

A founder member of Dervish, Kelly is equally at home trading riffs with James Brown, The Buena Vista Social Club or Sting.

Add to the mixJohn Doyle’s signature guitar sound, heard on recordings by Solas, Joan Baez, Usher’s Island, Linda Thompson and TimBrien among others, and you’ ll find no finer musical company to carry you through January with a light heart and a skip in your step.

REELING IN THE SHOWBAND YEARS

Reeling in The Showband Years at the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Monday, January 1st at 8pm. With Ronan Collins, Red Hurley, Gina from The Champions, The Conquerors Showband, Dave Lawlor, Keith and Lorraine McDonald, Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg, this all-star cast pays tribute to the great showband era. Bringing you back in time to this magical musical period, Reeling in the Showband Years will send you home with great memories of wonderful and never to be repeated time in Irish popular music!

CHARLIE LANDSBOROU­GH

English singer song-writer, Charlie Landsborou­gh comes to the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Saturday the 20 th of January. Generally recognised and categorise­d as a country singer, country music is only one part of Charlie’s live shows and music catalogue, with his performanc­es blending a great cross-section of anthem, ballads, blues, country, and folk with a strong and often personal lyric content.

This, mixed with his wit and repartee, has led to a winning formula which has made an impact on so many and fans and fellow artists alike.
