Didn’t wear safety belt
A front seat passenger in a car who was seen by Gardaí not wearing a seat belt has had his case struck out.
Before the court was John Gilbride (53) of Wolfe Tone Street, charged with not wearing a safety belt on Ray MacSharry Road on 20th March last.
The court heard Gilbride was issued with a fixed penalty fine which was not paid.
Gilbride told Judge Kilrane he had gotten out from the car a short distance back and had a very short distance to travel to his home in Wolfe Tone Street.
Judge Kilrane struck out the case but warned Gilbride to wear his seat belt in future.
