THE Ursuline College was defeated in the Connacht semi-final on penalties by Ballinrobe in the Showground­s on Thursday.

It was 3-3 between the sides at the end of full-time and the semi-final was going to be decided on penalties.

Scorers for the Ursuline College included Yasmin Connolly, who scored a brace and Gráinne Mitchell.

The Ursuline College has a good record in football competitio­ns, its First Year girls won the Bank of Ireland FAI Schools Championsh­ip last year in what was a fantastic occasion for the school.
