Innisfree Wheelers Santa Cycle for Lions Club

-

THE Innisfree wheelers teamed up with the local Sligo Lions Club for their annual Christmas food appeal. This is a popular event every Christmas and is always widely supported by the public. The total raised through the cycle and the static cycle in Quay Street was €2610.

On the eve of this Santa Cycle it looked as though it may have to be cancelled due to concerns over the weather and safety but the club decided to leave that call until the morning of the event. One of the club’s experienced members drove the route at 9am and declared it safe to cycle. Just under 50 cyclists turned out for this worthy cause which raises much needed funds for the needy in Sligo at Christmas.

The cycle and the Static cycle in Quay St Shopping centre the previous day raised a total of €2610. The Lions Club and the Innisfree Wheelers Cycling Club would like to thank the people of Sligo for their generosity towards this event with all the money collected of course staying in Sligo for the local people in need. Innisfree Wheelers will be hosting more events in 2018 in support of local charities.
