-11C recorded in Markree
IT’S official, it’s not just your imagination - Sligo was the coldest place in Ireland last Sunday morning.
The lowest overnight temperature in the country was recorded at Markree Castle as it shot below -11C. It was the hardest frost we’ve seen so far this winter.
Met Éireann reported the fact on Twitter while issuing a Status Orange Cold warning at 1pm Sunday until 10am Monday.
Today will be milder with highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees.
