Low tide times to scale back search

TIDE times for this week means there will be no organised search for missing Coney Island native, Michael McGowan. who has been missing since Friday the 29 th of December.

The tides for the rest of the week are not suitable for searching in daylight and the next organised searches will not be until Saturday 13th, gathering as normal at 8am in Harry’s, Rosses Point.

Gardaí, the RNLI, Civil Defence, Sligo Sub Aqua Club and Coastguard helicopter have been searching for Mr McGowan (43) with hundreds of volunteers all along the coastline.

The search is being co-ordinated by Sergeant Philip Maree and people out walking this week are asked to keep a lookout but to remain safe and not to put themselves in any danger.
