-

A new commemorative library card has been launched by Sligo Library Service.

The Colonel William Gregory Wood-Martin card was specially commissioned by County Librarian Donal Tinney to mark the 100 year anniversary of the death of the famous Sligo author, historian and archaeologist and features a map of Sligo from his book “Sligo and the Enniskilleners”.

Pictured above at the launch of the card at the Sligo County Museum were left to right: Sam Moore, IT Sligo Archaeology Department (Organiser of Cromlechs, Crannógs and Cures, the W.G. Wood-Martin conference), Councillor Cathaoirleach Seamus Kilgannon, Richard Wood-Martin, great grandson of author Colonel William Gregory Wood-Martin (1847-1917), County Librarian Donal Tinney and Museum Attendant Ms. Angela McGurrin.
