New year means new production in pipeline for Cloonacool Players

Rehearsals are in full swing at present for this year’s production of ‘Cupid Wore Skirts’ by the Cloonacool Players. This is an hilarious three-act comedy written by that great northern playwright Sam Cree.

It will be performed in Cloonacool Community Centre on February 9, 10 and 11, followed by dates in the Hawks Well Theatre Sligo, Ballina Arts Centre, St Brigid’s Hall Tubbercurr­y and Ballintogh­er Community Centre.

The cast contains the usual mix of local actors which include John McIntyre, Denis Ross, Geraldine Lundy, Laura Mullarkey, Breege Calvey Martin McIntyre, Margaret McIntyre and newcomers Regina Henry and Dara McGarry.

The play is produced by Seán Walsh and directed by Tom Towey. Stage manager is Peadar Conway, Set Constructi­on is looked after by Seán Calvey and Alan McKim, stage assistants Sinéad Davitt and Agnes Durkin, Sound by Morris Conboy, Lighting is organised by Seán Johnston, Benny Henry and Owen Ross.

Props are looked after by Eileen Kirrane, Costumes by Mary Keane and Make-up is by Ann-Marie Conway.

Transport is organised by Peadar Conway, John McIntyre and Adrian McIntyre.
