-

A driver who wanted to turn her car into a commercial vehicle had taken the seats out but hadn’t done the paper work and her tax was out, Sligo District Court was told.

Ingrid Lally of Scarden, Strandhill Road was summoned for not having tax displayed on her car and for parking in a loading bay at O’Connell Street on January 13th 2017.

Traffic warden Tony Fox gave evidence of placing the tickets on the defendant’s car.

The defendant told the court that she put the car on the road on December 19 th with a view to making it a commercial vehicle. She had the seats taken out but hadn’t finished the process and still hadn’t.

The car was now off the road and she didn’t have a vehicle, she told Judge Kevin Kilrane.

On parking in the loading bay, the defendant said she was a disabled driver and had wanted to go into the PTSB.

Judge Kilrane applied the Probation Act on one summons and struck out the other.
