Patient describes her A&E experience like a TV drama

A seriously ill Roscommon woman has described her experience of the emergency department in Sligo University Hospital as ‘ like a scene out of ER’.

Edel, from Tulsk, has second-stage multiple sclerosis, having been diagnosed with the illness 16 years ago.

Last Wednesday she was forced to attend the ED in Sligo, but although an ambulance arrived to her Roscommon home within ten minutes, she says she faced chaos in the hospital.
