‘Followed dog into premises’ - fined €100
A young man who it was claimed followed a dog into a waste disposal premises was fined €100 for trespassing at Sligo District Court.
John Sweeney (19) of 4 Alma Terrace admitted the offence which occurred at Greenstar, Deepwater Quay on August 13th 2017. A charge of trespass at Hunter’s Coal, a premises next door was struck out with the agreement of the prosecution at the outset of the case. Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor (defending) (pictured) said the defendant had gone into the recycling centre with others after a dog went in there. The Gardaí came and they went into the premises next door, he said.
Judge Kevin Kilrane said the question of imprisonment arose if there was a further offence.
“You got a chance before and now you have been fined,” he told the defendant.
