Commission on future of policing
MEMBERS of the Commission on the Future of Policing met last week with members of the public, local community groups and elected representatives in the Hive Centre in Carrick-on-Shannon where a range of policing issues were raised. The Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland was established by Government in May 2017 to develop a blueprint for policing in Ireland into the future. The Chairperson of the Commission, Kathleen O’ Toole said: “The opinions of the people of Carrick-on-Shannon and those we will meet across Ireland in the coming months, will be central to informing the Commission’s deliberations.
