Cannabis found in car after being stopped

WHEN Gardaí stopped a car they found €120 worth of cannabis in it.

Before Sligo District Court last Thursday was Shane McGuinness (24) of Donaghbeg, Manorhamil­ton who admitted a charge of cannabis possession on May 5 th last at Carraroe.

Inspector Paul Kilcoyne said the car was stopped by Gardaí after it was seen being driven in a suspicious manner at Pearse Road.

The car was subsequent­ly searched and €120 worth of the drug was found in it.

A plea to the offence was entered by Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor.

Judge Kevin Kilrane adjourned the case to February 8th next to allow him come up with €100 for the charity Hope House.

If this was done then he would deal with the matter by applying the Probation Act.
