Football coaching in the US a hit with local students in summer

-

STUDENTS interested in travelling to America this summer to coach football should keep Monday, January 29th free in their diaries.

USIT is hiring people with an interest in football, travel and working with kids to become coaches in America this summer for 8-10 weeks.

They are holding a trial session in IT Sligo on Monday, January 29th at 1pm.

Last summer, Aaron O’Brien, a student in IT Sligo, spent the duration coaching in Texas and he was delighted with how it all went.

Aaron said: “The USIT Soccer Coaching programme is really good for those who want to travel and who have an interest in soccer.

“I spent my time working in Texas and Louisiana where I got to meet so many new people, experience the unbelievable nightlife in Austin and get a VIP experience at an FC Dallas game.

“After I finished my work as a soccer coach, I flew to Florida where I visited all the theme parks in Orlando and chilled out on Miami Beach.

“Doing this USIT programme is definitely an experience you won’t regret,” Aaron added.

Soccer is one of the fastest growing sports in the US especially among young children.

Last year more than three million children were registered to play the game and with that there is a need to place hundreds of coaches to work in summer soccer camps.

To get hired as a soccer coach you need to attend a Coaching Trial day.

You don’t need to be a brilliant player or a college student, just show you’ve got enthusiasm to do the job and will work well with kids.
