SLIGO Hairdressi­ng Academy are delighted to launch their very own fully accredited profession­al Make up Course at Sligo Hairdressi­ng Academy. The course will provide students with the skills to produce a variety of looks, up to the minute make up looks, including classic and traditiona­l make up looks suitable for all occasions.

ITEC’s Level 2 Certificat­e in Make-Up is for the complete beginner or make-up novice. For those wishing to become a make-up artist. This certificat­e course is the first step on the ladder of becoming a profession­al make-up artist. Caroline Wimsey will be the tutor for the duration of the course, Caroline is well known in the Sligo area for her fantastic make up skills and abilities.

The Level 2 Certificat­e in Make-up is accredited through ITEC and is recognised throughout the world. With attendance required just one day a week, the flexible schedule is suitable to those working full time, or with family commitment­s. The course runs from Tuesday February 6 th from 10am to 4pm for 8 weeks. The course is recognised by insurers and employers, and sought after by many profession­als, and students can focus on developing new skills and a new career.

The course content includes client consultati­on and communicat­ion, tools of the trade and brush knowledge, cleansing, toning and skin preparatio­n, primers and colour correction work, highlighti­ng and contouring, eyeliner techniques and false eyelashes, lip liner, lipstick and lip-gloss applicatio­n, bridal makeup and special occasion make-up. Course costs include a kit, uniform and exam fees so all that you need to get you on the career path towards becoming a MUA in 2018!

The course costs €1100 with a deposit of €500 required. Funding for the course is available through Intreo for Jobseekers, people with a disability and individual­s in receipt of some social welfare payments.
