Causing death by driving charge

A 20-year-old man has been sent for trial to the Circuit Court on a charge of dangerous driving causing death of a 17 year-old boy.

Patrick Flynn of Farrellmacfarrell, Dromore West is charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Sean Egan at Pier Road, Enniscrone on March 19 th 2016.

A charge of drunk driving was also before the District Court and this was struck out on an application by the State Solicitor Mr Hugh Sheridan who said however that the charge would be added to the book of evidence for the Circuit Court.

Flynn, represented by Mr Gerard McGovern, solicitor was remanded on his own bail to the Circuit Court on February 13th.
