Man on public order charges in road accident

A 35-year-old man before the court on Public Order offences has been involved in a serious road traffic accident and may never be in a position to attend court again his solicitor said.

Stephen Conlon of Willow Park who is charged with being intoxicate­d at the Old Mill Apartments on Union Street on July 5 th last and at Rockwood Parade on September 16 th 2016.

He’s also facing a trespass charge at Lord Edward Street on September 21st.

Mr Gerard McGovern, so- licitor (defending) said the defendant had been involved in a serious accident a couple of months before Christmas on the Mullingar to Dublin road.

He had initially been treated in Tullamore Hospital before being transferre­d to the Beaumont and he was now living at home.

The cases were adjourned to May next by Judge Kevin Kilrane.

“It’ ll be that if ever the defendant comes to court again,” said Mr McGovern.
