Woodlands flooding funds

-

EFFORTS were to be made by Council staff last week to see where they could find funding to implement flood protection measures proposed by the Office of Public Works CFRAM report on Ballytivnan (Catchment Flood Risk Assessment and Management).

Councillor Declan Bree raised last week’s flooding in the Woodlands Estate at the meeting.

Council Engineer Brian Flynn said the CFRAM report had identified a number of solutions but the “challenge was to try and get the funding that’s needed to put some of these proposals in place.”

He said Council staff would meet last week to see how they could find funding.

Cllr Bree said residents were afraid every time it rained that their homes would be flooded.

Cllr Chris MacManus wondered if a development in the area might have caused the recent flooding to the Woodlands estate.
