JUVENILE AWARDS

Congratula­tions to all the Drumcliffe-Rosses Point GAA Club’s underage players and their coaches whose achievemen­ts in 2017 were celebrated at the Juvenile Awards Night in Rathcormac Hall last weekend. The future of Gaelic Games in this part of North Sligo is very bright.

YEATS ANNIVERSAR­Y

Well done to everyone involved in what was a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaini­ng WB Yeats commemorat­ion event in Drumcliffe Church last Sunday. A special word of praise to the Cos Cos Festival, the Drumcliffe-Rathcormac Tidy Towns Group, and the Drumcliffe Church of Ireland Parish.

OXFIELD AGM

The AGM of the Oxfield Community Centre management committee takes place this Wednesday, January 31, at 9 p.m. Open to all members of the community and everyone is very welcome. If you want to hear about some of the exciting developmen­ts planned for 2018 please pop in.

CREATIVE WRITING

Creative Writing Workshops at the Drumcliffe Teahouse continue every Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. The group caters for writers of all experience levels, including people who feel they would like to write but don’t know how or where to begin. SEAN NÓS sean nós dance classes continue every Tuesday evening in Rathcormac NS Beginners start at 6.30 p.m., with improvers and advanced dancers starting at 7.30 p.m. All very welcome. Call 086 1925988 for further details.

DIGITAL SKILLS

The parents’ associatio­n in Rathcormac National School (in conjunctio­n with the Department of Communicat­ions, Climate Action and Environmen­t and Sligo Leader Partnershi­p) are running free basic digital skills training classes, where citizens will learn the skills they need to use and enjoy the many benefits that using the internet offers.

Classes will take place on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to midday and it all starts on February 10 If you are interested and would like to put your name down to reserve a place or if you would like to know more... please contact either Ruth Campbell at 087 9073968 or Gillian Watters at 086 2079427.

‘An Ordinary Man’ is coming to Rathcormac Hall on Thurs- day, March 22, a Beezneez Production starring Gerry Farrell, which by all accounts is simply ‘unmissable’. Tickets are on sale now from Cos Cos members or call 086 1925988.
