The monthly Comhaltas session will take place in Nathy Brennan’s on Friday night, February 2. Junior session starts at 9 p.m. and senior session at 10 p.m. All musicians welcome.

THE PHOENIX PLAYERS

The Phoenix Players are proud to announce they will be performing their latest three-act play ‘Buried Child’ by Sam Shepard in St Brigid’s Hall on Thursday and Friday, February 15, and 16. The group will soon be embarking on the three act festival circuit, presenting this prize winning play to audiences nationally. The stellar cast includes Pat Feeley, Mary Walsh, Francis Brennan, Kieran Brennan, Eamonn Gallagher, Shane Loftus and Claire McLoughlin, with the capable Peter Davey directing. Tickets cost €12 (€10 concession) and will be available on the door. Curtain up at 8 p.m., nightly. A show not to be missed.

ST ATTRACTA’S CS

Classes for spring 2018 at St Attracta’s CS, Tubbercurr­y. (Booking essential 071 9120814, email mroddy@stattracta­s.ie). (1) CAD (Computer Aided Design) – seven-week course (€80) Tuesdays 6.45 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. – starting January 30 (for beginners/improvers). (2) Basic Computer classes – 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. starting Tuesday, January 30, for five weeks (free but you must attend each week. (3) Woodwork – (basic) seven weeks 6.45 p.m. to 8.45 p.m. starting Tuesday, January 30 (€80). No classes during midterm February 12 to February 16.

WESTERN DRAMA FESTIVAL

The Tubbercurr­y Western Drama Festival are this year celebratin­g its 75th Anniversar­y, and the committee are busy preparing for the 2018 Three Act Drama Festival event which runs from March 2 to March 10 in St Brigid’s Hall Theatre, Tubbercurr­y at 8 p.m. nightly. The official launch will take place on Sunday night, February 18, following the performanc­e of the ‘Drawer Boy, presented by the Beeznes Theatre Company.

To complement the occasion the Western Drama Festival committee will host a wine reception, and patrons will be introduced to the 2018 Programme of plays and events to celebrate the 75year anniversar­y.
