Brilliant performances from Sligo AC at Track and Fields
SLIGO AC juveniles were at the County Sligo Indoor Track and Field Championships in Claremorris recently and clubs from around the county took part.
Sligo AC athletes had many great performances both individually and in the relay event.
In the relays, Sligo AC won 3 gold medals (under 12 girls, under 13 girls, under 13 boys), 2 silver medals (under 14 girls, under 14 boys) and 4 bronze medals (under 11 girls, under 11 boys, under 12 boys and under 14 girls).
The Relay teams were; Under 11 girls: Laurina Percy, Jessica Reynolds, Melanie Sleator and Edlira Brahini.
The Under 11 boys team included: Liam McLoughlin, Tom McCabe, Pat Corcoran and Brian McCabe.
The Under 12 girls team were: Nebellah Basith, Liadan Ruddy, Ceoilin Byrne and Rachel McGoldrick.
Included on the Under 12 boys team were: Tadgh Murphy, Liam McLoughlin, Brian McCabe and Tom McCabe.
The Under 13 girls team were: Maedbh McLoughlin, Rebecca Gilroy, Orna Murphy and Blaine Heekan.
The Under 13 boys team featured: Dara Mostyn, Finn Campbell, Hughie Doherty and Sean McCabe.
The Under 14 girls had two teams; Rebecca Gilroy, Sophie Reynolds, Eabha Cawley and Tara Breheny, and also Aimee Smyth, Orna Murphy, Sarah-Jane Reynolds and Maedbh McLoughlin.
The Under 14 boys included: Alfie McDermott, Joe Campbell, Matthew Percy and John Corcoran.
All of the athletes really enjoyed the competition in Claremorris.
