Riverstown Community Games Art competition will take place on Friday, February 9, at 6 p.m. in Ardkeernan NS Model-making will take place in Sooey Hall on February 25 at 3 p.m. Swimming will take place in Sligo Sports Complex at on Saturday, March 3, at 6 p.m. Swimmers should be pool-side at 5.45 p.m. For further information on any Community Games event call 086 8258525.
PLAYGROUND CLEAN-UP
A considerable amount of work has been done in the Riverstown Playground. A huge thank you to Sligo County Council for all their work repairing the equipment. Thank you to Noel McGrath, Jimmy Murphy and Anthony Willis for their work on the wall and fence. A clean-up session of Chapel Gardens will take place on Saturday, February 10, starting from 8 a.m. onwards but cleaners are welcome to come at time to suit themselves over the weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
FUN RUN
A Family Fun 5k Walk or 10K run is being held as part of Coola Strictly Come Dancing fundraising in Aid of the astroturf Pitch Development. Support Team Ann Dorey and Tom Faughnan. The run will take place on Sunday, February 4, at 1 p.m. starting from Coola Post Primary School. Registration from 12.30 p.m. Adults €10 Child €5 Family €20. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
RAMBLING HOUSE

TABLE QUIZ
Everyone welcome to a table quiz in aid of Sligo County Agricultural Show on Saturday, February 10, at 9.30 p.m. in Tommy Macs Pub. Raffle on the night.
MOTHERS’ UNION
A meeting of the Mothers’ Union will take place on Monday, February 12, at 8 p.m. in the Cooper Memorial Hall. The speaker will be Mary McKeown from the Simon Community. This is an open meeting so friends and family all welcome.
TRACTOR RUN
A Tractor Road Run will be held on February 11 in aid of the Coola PPS Strictly Come Dancing which is raising funds for the new Astro Pitch Development at the School. Registration will take place from 12.30 at the CMD Building, North West Business Park, Collooney and the run starting at 1.30 p.m.
McGinty Tractors of Donegal Town will be present at the event with their Dyno testing equipment. They will be testing tractors power output for just €20, this normally costs €75. All tractors from new to vintage are invited as are classic cars and motorbikes. The entry fee for the run only is €20 or €40 for the run and a Dyno test. All proceeds raised will support the team of Brenda Crowley and Jimmy Regan in the Strictly Come Dancing Event. Any enquiries please phone 087 2334929 or 087 7993145.

DRAMA FESTIVAL LAUNCH
The launch of the Western Drama Festival takes place on Sunday night, February 18, in St Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurry just after the performance of the wonderful ‘Drawer Boy, presented by the Beeznees Theatre Company. ACTIVE RETIREMENT
The local Active Retirement Association has now resumed activities and meetings for the coming weeks which will be held each afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Health Centre. It is hoped that each meeting will contain a 20 minute exercise programme.
The programme of events will include talks/demos on Eye Care, CPR, Fire Risks and a craft evening, together with card games, table quiz and music/social hour.
Bowling and Curling continue weekly in Teach Laighne and a new idea for this year is a weekly Irish Hour at 3.30 p.m. on Thursday afternoons in Teach Laighne to which all those interested in reviving their ‘Cúpla Focail’ in an easy, entertaining way will be very welcome. New members are always welcome.

Complementing the Western Drama Festival celebration of 75 years in existence, a special exhibition ‘Celebrating Creativity in our Community’ will be heldin partnership with Tubbercurry Community Library – Sligo Library Service from March 6 to March 10 2018.
