Bar extension granted

An application to extend the bar area of Hargadons Bros into the existing wine shop was granted at Sligo District Court.

Mr Michael Monahan, solicitor, told Judge Kevin Kilrane that the new area is extending into what is currently the wine shop at Johnston’s Court.

Paul Burke, architect, outlined the details to Judge Kilrane. He said the new area was 64metres squared and the existing bar area is 24 metres squared. Mr Monaghan explained that the whole house is licensed, including the upstairs, which the judge pointed out is not set aside for the business of selling alcohol. Inspector Paul Kilcoyne said there was no objection from gardaí and there was also none from the Fire Officer. Judge Kilrane granted the application and a second application for an off licence for the same area which was the wine shop was also granted.
