DOG FOULING
People walking their dogs on Carraroe roads are requested to remove fouling and not to dump into hedges as the plastic bags do not disintegrate and have to be removed by litter pickers – please bring home and bin. There is an on the spot fine of €150 for such offences. Pooper – scoopers are available free from Sligo County Council.
GREENWAY
The first stage of the greenway is now complete; now for the next stage and onward to Ballysdare eventually. A bike scheme is being launched in Sligo on March 1 and Carraroe has been selected a venue to locate some bikes – more info in next few weeks. This service with the greenway amenity will be of assistance to all residents and will we hope encourage young and seniors to become more active and enjoy. Let’s get organised and start a Carraroe walking/cycling group.
25 CARD GAME
The regular game takes place each Tuesday night at 9 p.m. Bring a partner but if necessary we can match you up. Winners were Joe Scanlon/Joe Moran on 14 Games. Runners-up were John Snee/Thomas McCarrick, John Lee/Pádraig McLoughlin, Johnny McLean/Nigel Durcan on 10 Games.

PARISH RETIREMENTS
Our Sacristans Evelyn and Martin Scanlon and retiring after many years of faithful service to our Parish Community. A Mass of thanksgiving for service in the parish followed by refreshments in the community centre will take place next Friday beginning at 7 p.m. Invitation envelope included with Newsletter and available at the back and side door for catering purposes. The regular meeting is held on first Tuesday of each month in Carraroe Community Centre New Members always welcome contact Mary Harkin for more information at 086 3755894. The walking group continues every Thursday morning at 10.30 from the Riverside Hotel.
The Sligo Federation Meeting will be held in Beltra on Wednesday, February 21, with the table quiz being held on the night. The winning team will go forward to represent Sligo at An Grianan on March 3. The federation Irish night will be held in Teach Ceol in Riverstown on Saturday, March 10, as part of Seachtain na Gaeilge celebrations.
