OXFIELD AGM

A new management committee for 2018 was elected at the AGM of the Oxfield Community Centre last week. The new committee is as follows: chairperso­n Michael Kilcoyne, Vice-Chair Seán McCaffery, secretary Margaret Regan, Assistant secretary TBC, treasurer Brian Coyle, Assistant treasurer Pamela Hunter, PR Officer Paul Tolan, Developmen­t Officer Rowan O’Callaghan, Operations Officer Brian McNulty, Assistant Operations Officer Damien Kerrigan. 2018 promises to be an exciting year at the local Community Centre given the ever increasing usage and plans for improved facilities.

SOCCER SISTERS CAMP

Booking is now open for the Soccer Sisters Easter Camp in Carney on Wednesday, March 28, and Thursday, March 29, The camp is open to all girls aged 6-14. Cost of the camp is €30 which includes a kit and a football. Booking is online at: soccersist­ers.ie.

SEAN NÓS: sean nós dance classes continue every Tuesday evening in Rathcormac NS Beginners start at 6.30 p.m., with improvers and advanced dancers starting at 7.30 p.m. All very welcome. Call 086 1925988 for further details.

DIGITAL SKILLS

The parents’ associatio­n in Rathcormac National School (in conjunctio­n with the Department of Communicat­ions, Climate Action and Environmen­t and Sligo Leader Partnershi­p) are running free basic digital skills training classes, where citizens will learn the skills they need to use and enjoy the many benefits that using the internet offers.

Classes will take place on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to midday and it all started on February 10 If you are interested and you would like to know more please contact either Ruth Campbell at 087 9073968 or Gillian Watters at 086 2079427.

GAA REGISTRATI­ON

The provisiona­l dates for 2018 registrati­on of the local Drumcliffe-Rosses Point GAA Club are Saturday, February 24 (10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. in Oxfield) and Wednesday, February 27 (7.15 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. in Rosses Point NS). The Saturday morning nursery coaching for kids is set to start back on March 3.

CHARITY PANCAKE DAY

Henry’s Bar, Cashelgarr­en are hosting a Charity Pancake Day on Tuesday, February 13, from midday to 6 p.m. in aid of the North West Simon Community. Please support this local home- less charity in Sligo.

CARNEY TIDY TOWNS

Our annual table quiz will be held on Saturday, February 24, at 9.30 p.m. in Batty’s Of Carney. Cost is €20 per table and there will be lots of spot prizes up for grabs on the night.

CARNEY LISSADELL 10K: A date for your diary. The annual Carney Lissadell 10k Road Race and Walk takes place on Easter Monday, April 2, Plenty of time to get some training in between now and then.
