COMMUNITY GAMES: Next weekend is the beginning of Sligo Community Games county finals of the 1st round events for 2018. On Sunday Feb 18th the Mixed Distance Relay competitio­n will take place at the Cleveragh pitches Sligo at 11am. In the U-12 Boys 400m Castleconn­or will be represente­d by Ben Cawley Castletown, Thomas Sheridan Corballa, and Oisin Gavin Rathmurphy. Arwen O’Neill Carrownurl­ar will run in the Girls U-14 800m.

At the same venue Aisling Mullarkey Carrownurl­ar will make history by becoming the first ever competitor from the parish to partake in the U-16 Girls 7K marathon. Later in the afternoon Padraic Gavin Rathmurphy, Fionn Gordan Carrownurl­ar, Michael Sheridan Corballa and Eoghan Durkan Ballymoghe­nry will represent the parish in the U-14 Quiz in Strandhill N.S.

On Monday Feb 19th Aine McGranagha­n Bunninarla will represent the parish in the Girls U-11 Gymnastics at the Sligo Sports Centre. Best of luck to all the competitor­s.

The Castleconn­or/Enniscrone Community Games swimming finals will take place on Saturday February 24th from 3.30 5pm in Ballina Swimming pool.
