WINTER’S GRIP
It may be February but Sligo has received a winter’s blast these past few days which is set to last most of the week. Heavy rain on Saturday caused flooding and this gave way to wintry showers on Sunday and Monday. It resulted in the cancellation of many sporting and community events.
Several schools around the county also closed on Monday and many school bus services didn’t run. This snowy scene was taken by photographer Tom Callanan on the Ballina Road outside Tubbercurry.
