Golden start for Drumcliffe

DRUMCLIFFE area had a Golden start to the 2018 Community Games, Sunday morning the first County events were run off at Cleveragh running track.

Fourteen children from the area braved the very wet and mucky conditions to compete in the mixed distance relay competition. Silver for Rian and Gold for Nicola in the U/14 800m

Gold for Joe and Silver for Anna in the U/14 600m

Gold for Daniel and Gemma in the U/12 600m Gold for Finn and Silver for Jasmine in the U/12 400m

Next up for Drumcliffe was the Dualathon, this is a new event for Sligo Community Games, it’s a combination of cycling and running, Nicola brought Gold home from this event too.

The afternoon thankfully brought us indoors to Strandhill for the County Quiz competition, after 8 rounds of general knowledge questions, and very close competition, Drumcliffe A team emerged Gold medal winners, followed closely by Drumcliffe team B in 3rd place.
