GLENFARNE STORYTELLING
The Ballroom of Romance was a very successful and popular 1982 Pat O’Connormade short film with strong links to Glenfarne while the original story that the film was based on was penned by noted English writer, William Trevor. The local Glenfarne community is currently engaged in a project that is planning the ‘ Re-imaging the Rainbow Ballroom Glenfarne.’ Spokesperson for the project Sheila O’Keefe says: ‘Glenfarne saw how much fun younger and older people can have together when the Intergenerational Choir (RTEs Choir of Ages) came to the Rainbow Ballroom.
‘Now is the chance for more fun but this time through storytelling and Reminiscing. Kids, get your parents, grandparents, friends and neighbours to come with you to share young and old stories about life in Glenfarne.’
All children and their parents are invited to come to the Rainbow Ballroom’s New Upstairs Room for storytelling and Reminiscing on Saturday night, February 24, between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.
