Woman (49)tried to drag taxi driver out of his car
A woman who attacked a taxi driver when he was dropping her off has been convicted and fined ¤200.
Nell Moran (49) of St Patrick’s Terrace, Sligo, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Caltragh Crescent on 18th April last year.
Inspector Donal Sweeney told the court that Gardaí were on patrol in Caltragh when they saw a woman attacking a man in a taxi.
“She was very abusive. When she got out, she opened the driver’s car door and tried to drag the taxi driver out,” he told Judge Kevin Kilrane.
“She attempted to kick a Garda, narrowly missing his head,” he added.
He said Moran had convictions for assault.
Mr Gerard McGovern, defending, said Moran “fortunately didn’t make any contact with the Garda” and had private problems.
“She was on heavy medication and took some alcohol,” he said.
Judge Kilrane convicted and fined Moran ¤200.
